ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Donna

I am proud to be a lifelong Virginian and have called Roanoke home for the past 25 years. Throughout my career and community service, I have dedicated myself to making life better for families in Southwest Virginia. Now, I’m ready to take that commitment to the General Assembly to fight for solutions that work for all of us.

I’m running for the House of Delegates because I believe we need leaders who will put people above politics. I know how to balance a budget without harming people, and I’ll fight for fiscal responsibility, accessible healthcare—including strong support for Medicaid and Medicare—and reproductive freedom. Most of all, I want to bring honesty, kindness, and civil discourse back to our politics.

I’m not a career politician—I’m a neighbor, a leader, and a problem solver. I’m ready to represent the people of District 40 with integrity and thoughtful leadership. I would be honored to have your support.

My Professional Background

I earned my undergraduate degree in Accounting and my MBA from Virginia Tech, which laid the foundation for a 35-year career at Carilion Clinic. For 25 years, I served in finance roles, including as Vice President of Finance, overseeing hospitals, physician services, retail services, insurance companies, and administrative operations. Later, I spent a decade as Senior Vice President for Population Health, working to expand access to care and improve health outcomes across our region. I was also honored to be the founding Chief Financial Officer of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, helping to shape the future of medical education in our state. After retiring in October 2024, my passion for service remains as strong as ever.

Giving back to my community has always been a priority. Over the years, I’ve served on the boards of organizations dedicated to improving lives, including DePaul Community Resources, the Roanoke Women’s Foundation, Family Service of Roanoke Valley, The Twelve Foundation, and the Adult Care Center of Roanoke Valley.

Through my work with The Twelve Foundation, I’ve helped develop The Grove on Patterson, a residential treatment center for pregnant and parenting women, set to open in spring 2025. I believe that strong communities lift people up, and I’ve spent my life working to make that happen.

I also completed the Sorensen Political Leaders Program at the University of Virginia, where I gained valuable insight into bipartisan leadership.

MY MISSION

To Be A Good Neighbor for
Southwest Virginia

In Southwest Virginia, being a good neighbor means showing up, listening, and doing the right thing—even when it’s tough. That’s the kind of leadership I’ll bring to Richmond.

  • I know how to balance a budget AND help families get ahead.

  • I believe in smart government, not big government.

  • I’ll work with anyone who has good ideas, no matter their party.
